Swimming Senior Night 2026

At tonight's meet against Columbia City, the swim team honored their 3 seniors and 2 exchange students. The hard work and leadership that these swimmers display every day will leave a lasting legacy for all future Squire swimmers. Hugo Montero – Hugo is an exchange student from Spain and lives with his host parents, Jason and Heather Lauer. In addition to swimming, he has also participated in soccer at Manchester. His favorite swimming memory has been the time spent in the hot tub, the swim meets, and beating Andrew in the 50 freestyle. After returning home he plans to complete his last two years of school and attend college. Jana Boladeres – Jana is an exchange student from Barcelona, Spain who lives with host parents, Bill and Carol Collett. She is the daughter of Enric Boladeres and Patricia Schmitt. In addition to swimming, she has also participated in soccer at Manchester. Her favorite swimming memory has been going to Coach Bennett’s house with the team to surprise him with Christmas songs. After returning home she plans to finish school and then return to the states for college and see all the countries of the world. Kelzei Fox – Kelzie is the daughter of Tim and Stacy Fox. A two-year swimmer, Kelzei has also participated in cross country, track, tennis, and key club during her time at Manchester. Her favorite swimming memory has been the time she brought a bird mask to our swim meet and the team took turns diving in while wearing it. After graduating, she plans to attend college to major in elementary education with a minor in special ed with the goal of becoming an elementary teacher. Laynen DeLaughter – Laynen is the daughter of Kelly DeLaughter and the late Tony DeLaughter. Laynen has been a four-year swimmer and also participates in cheerleading, National Honor Society, Key Club, FFA, JAG, National Society of High School Scholars, Student Council, and dance. After graduation, she plans to attend Valparaiso University to study criminology and pre-law with the goal of attending law school and becoming a criminal defense attorney. Andrew Cardenes – Andrew is the son of Yesenia Cerda and Jose Cardenes. A first year swimmer, Andrew has also participated in country and football. His favorite swimming memory has been his close races with Hugo. After graduating he plans to attend trade school for construction.
