The boys swim team had a great day at the TRC championships, finishing 3rd behind Northwestern and Maconaquah. Jet Thomas led the boys with a 2nd place finish in the 100 breaststroke and a 3rd place finish in the 200 IM. Other Squire boys with podium finishes were Gabe Selleck (50 freestyle - 5th, 100 freestyle - 6th), Evan Bennett (100 butterfly - 6th), and Kai Elliott (100 breaststroke - 5th). The 200 medley relay team of Thomas, Elliott, Bennett, and Selleck finished 3rd, the 200 freestyle relay team of Eli Garcia, Marcus Harlan, Hugo Montero, and Kai Elliott finished 6th, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Selleck, Bennett, Garcia, and Thomas ended the meet with a third place finish. The girls team finished the meet in 6th place. Sophie Cumberland was the TRC champion in the 100 backstroke and finished 2nd in the 200 IM. The 200 medley relay team of Cumberland, Maggie Akins, Jana Boladeras, and Laynen DeLaughter finished 4th, the 200 freestyle relay team of Akins, Boladeres, Trinity Bradley, and Kelzei Fox finished 6th, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Cumberland, DeLaughter, Bradley, and Fox finished 6th. The Squire swim teams will be back in action on Monday, January 26th with a make-up meet at Pioneer.
