The Manchester girls swim team had several strong performances at Thursday's sectional prelims. Sophie Cumberland advanced to Saturday's sectional finals with the top seed in the 100 freestyle with a lifetime best swim of 56.83. She also advanced as the 2nd seed in the 100 backstroke with a lifetime best swim of 1:03.73. The 200 freestyle relay team of Jana Boladeres, Trinity Bradley, Kelzei Fox, and Laynen DeLaughter advanced to the consolation finals on Saturday with a 10th seed. Maggie Akins wrapped up her season by dropping over 7 seconds off her lifetime best in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 24th in 1:33.66. The sectional finals will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday in Warsaw where the top finisher in each event will advance to the state meet.
