Lady Squires Fall to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, 18–8

The Lady Squires ran into a strong Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger lineup on Friday, falling 18–8 despite an eight‑run rally in the fourth inning. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning, scoring two runs, highlighted by an error that allowed one run to cross the plate. Bishop Dwenger added to the lead in the top of the third, scoring eight runs on three hits to create separation. The Lady Squires responded in the bottom of the fourth inning with an offensive surge, plating eight runs in the frame. Jarrett singled to drive in a run, Metzger drew a bases‑loaded walk, and Jimenez followed with an RBI single. An error brought home two more runs before Renz delivered a two‑run single. Espeset capped the inning by drawing a walk to force in the final run of the rally. Renz anchored the middle of the lineup, leading the Lady Squires with two RBIs while going 1‑for‑4. Jarrett, Jimenez, Egolf, and Renz each collected one hit on the day. The Lady Squires showed discipline at the plate, drawing six walks, with Espeset and Egolf each earning two free passes. Defensively, the Lady Squires stayed engaged, turning three double plays in the contest. The Lady Squires return to action on Tuesday when they welcome Bluffton.
