Squires win over #5 Wabash

Manchester Varsity Squires beat #5 Wabash , moving to 5-5 overall and 2-0 in the TRC. Harper Sturtsman hit two home runs and drove in two as Manchester Varsity Squires defeated Wabash 5-2 on Monday. Sturtsman homered in the fourth and sixth innings. Sturtsman struck out 12 batters on the day. The righty also surrendered two hits and two runs over seven innings while walking four. Manchester Varsity Squires got on the board in the second inning after Landen Bean doubled, scoring one run. Sturtsman hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth for the Manchester Varsity Squires. Wabash tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a dropped third strike by Manchester Varsity Squires, and a single by Haiden McWhirt. Manchester Varsity Squires took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Sturtsman homered to left field, Wabash committed an error, and Hunter Hamilton doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Cooper Long took the loss for Wabash. The pitcher went six innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking one.
