Manchester Responds Early, Competes Throughout in Home Contest The Manchester Lady Squires showed fight and resilience at home Wednesday night, highlighted by a strong performance at the plate from Renz, who collected three hits in four at bats. Despite the 16-7 final, Manchester stayed competitive early and continued to battle throughout the game. The Squires responded immediately in the first inning after Northwestern struck early. Manchester surged ahead in the bottom half with a sacrifice fly from Egolf, an RBI single from Renz down the right field line, and heads-up baserunning that capitalized on a Northwestern error to bring across another run. Offensively, Manchester continued to produce. Espeset drove in three runs to lead the team, while Jarrett added a pair of hits. Renz’s consistent presence on base, with singles in the first, fifth, and seventh innings, helped keep pressure on the defense all night. Manchester showed determination at the plate and on the bases, putting runners in scoring position and competing through all seven innings. The Lady Squires will look to build on these offensive contributions and continue their growth as the season progresses.
