The Lady Squires set the tone early and never let up, earning a strong 5–2 victory over Bluffton on Tuesday. The Squires wasted no time getting on the board, erupting in the bottom of the first inning. Egolf got things rolling with an RBI single, followed by a big two-run knock from Jarrett. The aggressive start continued as another run crossed the plate on a dropped third strike, giving Manchester an immediate advantage and all the momentum. In the circle, Manchester showed a composed, team-first effort. Niccum got the start and delivered 3⅔ scoreless innings, working through traffic and keeping Bluffton off the board. Betten came in out of the bullpen and closed the door, earning the win by allowing just two runs over the final 3⅓ innings while not issuing a single walk. Offensively, the Squires stayed consistent throughout the lineup. Sautter, Renz, and Egolf each collected two hits, while Jarrett, Renz, Betten, and Egolf all contributed RBIs. Egolf also made an impact on the basepaths, swiping two bases to keep pressure on Bluffton’s defense. Defensively, Manchester was sharp and reliable all game long—playing error-free softball. Sautter led the way in the field with eight defensive plays, helping anchor a clean performance behind the pitching staff. Bluffton made a late push with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, but the Squires stayed in control and finished strong to secure the win. Manchester now turns its focus to the road, traveling to Northfield for their next matchup on Wednesday.
