Manchester falls to Churubusco

The Manchester boys tennis team stayed close with host Churubusco Monday, Aug. 24, but fell, 4-1. Squire No. 1 singles player Caleb Struble-Hedstrom picked up Manchester's only win, 6-1, 6-1. Soon after, No. 3 singles Adam Kerlin lost, 6-3, 6-2. Both Manchester doubles teams battled but fell short, first with the No. 1 team of Charlie Van and Graham Kreps-Miller losing 6-3, 7-6 (2), and the No. 2 team of Gatsby Gawthrop and Tate Harting going down in three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 6-4. In the final match to finish, Brendyn Mugford lost at No. 2 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. Freshman Braxton Martin won the only JV match, 8-0.
