Lady Squires Battle Golden Eagles on the Road The Manchester Lady Squires traveled to Oak Hill to take on the Golden Eagles in a hard-fought road matchup, ultimately falling 5-1. Oak Hill came out applying heavy pressure early and was able to find the back of the net first. Manchester’s defensive line of Kerrington Hearn, Ely Mobley, Brooklynn Grimes, Jocelynn Young, and McKayla Dillon responded well, working together to disrupt attacks and limit the Golden Eagles’ opportunities around the goal. Cora Brown played an outstanding game in net, coming up with several big saves and providing a strong presence behind the Manchester defense. Their strong defensive effort kept Manchester within striking distance as the Lady Squires headed into halftime trailing just 1-0. Oak Hill added another goal early in the second half, but Manchester refused to back down. Aeryn Klose provided the answer, creating her own opportunity and finishing an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 and put the Lady Squires right back in the game. Manchester continued to battle back and forth with the Golden Eagles. Ava Sautter and Rachel Eberly worked hard up top to create pressure and attacking opportunities, while Elin Betten, Allie Egolf, and Delany Harshman battled in the middle of the field for possession. Hayden Krom, Mackenna Bolinger, and Brynna Harshman provided strong play on the outside, working to connect the defense to the attack. The Lady Squires continued to push throughout the second half, but the effort of battling Oak Hill’s pressure began to take its toll late in the game. The Golden Eagles were able to capitalize down the stretch and add three late goals, making the final score 5-1.
