The Lady Squires left it all on the field tonight in the semi-finals of the sectional tournament against an undefeated Culver Community team. Manchester came out with a lot of energy on and off the field tonight. The midfield played tough and possessed the ball well. Allie Egolf, Elin Betten, Samantha Shock, Jo Eberly, and Ely Mobley all played big minutes on both ends of the field. During the first half, the Lady Squires scored first after Samantha Shock sent the ball up to Raimi Vawter who finished the shot to the corner. Culver Community was able to counter before halftime tying the game up 1-1. Starting a fresh half, Ava Sautter put Manchester up for a second time as she dribbled past multiple defenders to score. The Lady Squires defensive line led by Ane Hasund, Chase Blevins, Olivia Stevens, and Brooklynn Grimes was hard to break tonight. They played against a physical Culver offensive line and battled all game. Culver got through with 43 seconds left in the game and capitalized tying the game for a second time. The Lady Squires played an even overtime until the last 8 seconds of the game, when Culver finished on a through ball. Despite the loss, the ladies left it all on the field and we are proud of their growth and effort this season!
